Welcome to our digital magazine. Just as the South Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area became known as Silicon Valley, the Tucson Metro Area has earned a global reputation of its own: Optics Valley. This is where enabling technologies are conceived, engineered, and produced, technologies that power innovation across aerospace, defense, healthcare, energy, communications, and space.

This magazine exists to tell the Optics Valley story through the people who bring innovation to tangible and breakthrough solutions. The innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers, and supply-chain leaders who quietly build the tools behind the world’s most advanced products. We are developing foundational technologies that enable hundreds of industries to move faster, see farther, and do what was once impossible.

Furthermore, we believe people come before headlines, and community comes before capital. Every thriving tech hub starts the same way, not with billion-dollar exits or glossy press releases, but with people who have the grit to build something together. This magazine will shine a light on those stories and connect the community into something stronger together, versus going it alone.
